Parades and Parties

Last weekend my homeschool group was in a parade for a nearby city.  We wanted our float and candy to be unique!  Unique, like us....  We gathered at our local church, had a float making party, rode in the parade and then had our first annual Christmas party.
My homeschool group entered the city Christmas parade this year.  We had business cards made and attached them to our organic suckers.  These were passed out as the parents walked along the route of the parade.  The kids also threw candy canes.
No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives because several of the members are 'snacktivists'!

My snack made with the typical 'puppy chow' or 'muddie buddies' recipe but using Cheerios multigrain and only sugar-coating 1/2 the chocolate cereal.  I add plain Cheerios to the mix as well.  I also used dark chocolate.
After the parade, we had a party with hot chocolate, pizza, games, and Russian Wedding Cookies or Mexican cakes....  Well, no matter what the snacks were called, it was a great time of fellowship and pure socialization!

Our float did not win the city's competition; however, we were featured on the local news.  Most of all, the parents enjoyed each others' company and creativity while letting our younger children play.
